Daycare Teachers & Assistant Teachers

Job Summary

We are looking for passionate, nurturing educators and assistant teachers to join the Highland Playschool team. In this role you will encourage children’s intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth through play-based learning in a warm, supportive environment. If you love working with children and want to make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead developmentally appropriate games, activities, and daily schedules
  • Provide nurturing, attentive care for children throughout the day
  • Monitor and evaluate children’s progress toward developmental milestones
  • Communicate regularly with parents and keep them informed of their child’s activities and growth
  • Collaborate with fellow team members to maintain a safe, positive classroom environment
  • Assistant teachers support lead teachers with the above responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a daycare, childcare, or early childhood education setting preferred
  • Strong understanding of child development and how children learn and grow
  • Patient, kind, nurturing, and organized with excellent communication skills
  • First Aid and CPR certified or willingness to obtain certification
  • 90-hour CDA certificate required for teacher positions
  • Background check required in accordance with Maryland state licensing regulations
